Activities During The Year 2000 to 2001 (from 1st April, 2000 to 31st March, 2001): 

(a) Trekking Expedition :

1.    Round Annapurna and Thoran Pass Trek (Nepal) : from 15th April, to 8th May, 2000.

      Total days : 24 days. Participant Members : 14 Heads
      Gents : 6 heads and Ladies 7 heads, Leader Mr. D. C. Thakur.
      Report : Success fully Completed. All members reached Thorang Pass on 30th April, at
      8.10 hrs,   
      Height 17, 599 ft.
 

2.    Panchakedar, Chandrashila and Satopanth Lake Trek : 27th May to 23 rd June, 2000

Total Days : 28 days.
Total Participant Members : 15 heads
Gents Members 6 heads,
Ladies Members : 8 heads.
Leader : Mr. D C Thakur
Report : Successfully completed.

3.   Ronty Sadal Trek : (Via – Gowaldam, Wan, Rupkund, Homekund, Dodital) : From 20th August to 10th September, 2000

Total Days : 22 Days.
Total Participants Members : 12 heads.
Gents Members : 11 heads, Leader Minto Saha.
Report : Expedition Team reteand from Dodital (near Bara Homekund) due to Bad  Weather. 

4.    Sastal Trek (for Junior Members) : From 7th October to 21st October, 2000.

Total days : 15 days.
Total Participant Members : 28 heads.
In colaboration with Manali Expedition, The Mall, Manali,
Report : Successfully Completed. Leader : Mr. Minto Saha and Mr. Anath Bandhu Ghosh.

(a)   4th Rock Climbing Course was held on and from 23rd December, 2000 to 28th December, 2000. Duration : 6 days.

Total Participant Members : 48 heads
Spot : Burbaba Hills, Purulia.
Traineer : Mr. Minto Saha, Mr. Subrata Chakraborty, Mr. Tapash Tarafder.
Students of : Tollygunge Bangur High School, Naktala High School and Gangapuri Higher Secondary School. 

(b)   4th ANNUAL MEET, FELICITATION, SLIDE SHOW, MOUNTAINEERING FILM SHOW, SEMINAR ON ENVIRONMENT AND MAP STUDY, PUBLICATION OF 1ST MOUTHPIECE ‘SHIVLING’.

Held On : 30th December, 2000 to 1st January, 2001.
Duration : 3 days.
Total Participant Members : 217 heads.
Felicitate to : Mr. Amulya Sen, Mr. Kamal Kumar Guha, Dr, Sudhanshu Kumar Das, Dr. Raghunath Viswanath Godbole. 

(c)  DESERT TREK : From Jaisalmer to Jaisalmer

Held on : 6th January, to 20th January, 2001.
Total Days : 15 Days.
Participant Members : 6 heads

(d)   SOCIAL WORK :

BLOOD DONATION CAMP FOR THALASSAEMIA PATIENT, HEALTH CHECKING, BLOOD GROUP DETECTION, FREE MEDICINE DISTRIBUTION CAMP.

Held on : 26th January, 2001.
Venue : Tollygunge Bangur High School, 34 Golf Club Road, Kolkata 33
45 Members Donated their Blood.
542 Members Check their Health.
Members Detecting their Blood Group. 

(e)   COSTAL TREK : From WALTAIR TO PURI.

Held on : 28th January to 10th February, 2001
Participant Members : 9 heads

(f)   GRADUATION CEREMONY :

Held On : 11th March, 2001. 
Venue : Jogesh Mime Academy.
Slide Shown By : Mr. Shibnath Basu and Mr. Rathin Chakraborty.

(g)   SLIDE SHOW COMPETETION  on Mountaineering and Trekking:

Held on : 18th March, 2001 to 19th March, 2001, Duration : 2 Days. Participant Competator : 29 heads. Inaugurated by : Mr. S N Maitra (President). 

ACTIVITIES DURING 2001 – 2002 (From 1st April, 2001 to 31st March 2002) TREKING EXPEDITION 

TREKKING EXPEDITION : 

1.   LANGTANG VALLEY & GOSAINKUND LAKE Trekking Expedition : (Nepal) : Held On : 7th April, to 29th April, 2001.
Duration : 23 days.
Total Participant Members : 11 heads.
Leader : Mr. S N Maitra.
Report : Succesfully Completed
 

2.    MILAM & RALAM Trekking Expedition : (Kumayoon) :

Held On : 27th May to 24th June, 2001.
Duration :  29 days
Total Participamt Members : 16 Heads
Leader : Mr. Minto Saha,
Deputy Leader : Mr. S. Chakraborty
Report : Expedition Team Successfully Trek to Milam Glacier on 12th June and Suryakund on 14th June, 2001. But fail to trek to Ralam Glaicer due to heavy snow. 

3.   CHOTA KAILASH AND PARBATI SAROBAR Trekking Expedition :

Held On : 7th July to 5th August, 2001.
Duration : 29 days.
Total Participant Members 18 heads
Leader : Mr. D C Thakur,
Report : Successfully Completed. 

4.   MUKTINATH & DAMODAR KUND Trekking Expedition :

Held On : 9th September to 30th September, 2001.
Duration ; 22 days.
Total Participant Members : 12 heads. (Ladies Team)
Leader : Mr. Tapash Halder. 
Report : Expedition Member unable to attend to Damodar Kund due to political disturbance and porter problem. Successfully completed the Muktinath Trekking. 

5.    KEDAR TAL, TAPOBAN, NANDANVON Trekking Expedition :

Held On : 7th October to 28th October, 2001.
Duration : 22 days. 
Total Participant Members : 12 heads.
Leader : Mr. Arindam Dutta,
Deputy Leader : Mr. Tapash Halder.
Report : Expedition members returned from Bhujkharak due to bad weather. Successfully trek to Tapoban and Nandanvon. Furtherly attempted to trek to Kedartal but due to porter problems and also short of equipment, they can’t success to move further. 

6.   EVEREST BASE CAMP, KALPATHAR PEAK, GOKYO LAKE Trekking Expedition :

 Held on  : 3rd November to 24th November, 2001.
Duration : 22 days.
Total Participant Members : 16 heads.
Travel Through Shangrila Air,
Leader : Mr. D C Thakur.
Report : Successfully climbed Kalapathar Peak (18,192ft) on 15th November and climbed Gokyo Peak on 19th November, 2001.
Programme organised by us in colaboration with Himalayan Journeys Pvt. Ltd., under assistance of Mr. Arun Dali. 

(b)  ROCK CLIMBING COURSE :

1.    5th Rock Climbing Course :

Held on : 22nd December, to 28th December, 2001.
Duration : 7 days.
Held At : Panch Lingeswar (Orissa).
Participant Member : 49 heads.
Traineer : Mr. Minto Saha, Mr. Arindam Dutta and Mr. Biswanath Mondal.
Participant Member; Students from Tollygunge Bangur High School and Bijoygarh Higher Secondary School for Boys. 

2.    6th Rock Climbing Course :

Held  on : 6th February to 12th February, 2002.
Duration : 7 days.
Held at : Burababa Hills, Purulia.  Participant Members : 35 heads. Compulsary course for members.
Traineer : Mr. Minto Saha, Mr. Aloke Debnath. 

(c)   SOCIAL WORK : BLOOD DONATION CAMP, HEALTH CKECKING, EYE TESTING, EYE OPERATION AND FREE SPECTACEL DISTRIBUTION, BLOOD GROUP DETECTION, ECG, X-RAY AND FREE MEDICINE DISTRIBUTION.

      Held on : 5th January, 2002.
      Venue : Tollygunge Girls High School, P 55 Prince Bhakriyar Shah Road, Kolkata 700 033.
      In Collaboration with: Lions Club of Kolkata, New Alipore, 322B,
                                       Jadavpore Junior Red Cross Society, Regent Park, Kolkata 700 040
      38 Members Donated their Blood (including 21 NCC Student).
      653 Members Checked their Health
      210 Members Detecting their Blood Group.
      864 Members Checked their Eye (Tested by Lady Doctor)
      139 pcs. Spectacle Distributed between the Needy Person
      480 Members Collect Medicine From Free Medicine Distribution Counter.

(d)   5TH ANNUAL MEET, FELICITATION, SLIDE SHOW, MOUNTAINEERING FILM SHOW, PUBLISHED

OF  2ND ISSUE OF MOUTHPIECE ‘ SHIVLING’, GRADUATION CEREMONY PRIZE DISTRIBUTION, MOUNTAINEERING AND TOURISM QUIZ CONTEST.

Held on : 29th December to 31st December, 2001.
Duration : 3 days.
Venue : Baral Bagan, Khardah, North 24 Parganas.
Participant Members : 298 heads. 

(e)   COASTAL TREK :

MANGALORE TO COCHIN
Held on : 6th January to 23rd January, 2002.
Duration : 18 days.
Participant Members : 6 heads.
Leader : Mr. Kuriyan George (Kerala) and  Mr. Ajoy Nandi (Kolkata) 

(f)   PLESURE TRIP :

      ANDAMAN
      Madras to Port Blair and Port Blair to Kolkata by ship.   Held from : 10th February to 28th February, 2002. Duration : 11 days. Travel conducted by : Mr. Ajoy Srivastava. Participant Members : 9 heads. 

ACTIVITIES during 2002 – 2003 (From 1st April, 2002 to 31st March, 2003) :

Trekking Expedition :

1.    MACHHAPUCHARE BASE AND ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP (SOUTH) TREKKING EXPEDITION :

(Nepal Himalaya) :
Held On : 14th April, 2002 to 4th May, 2002 .   Duration : 21 days.
Total Participant Members : 9 heads.
Leader : Mr. Soumen Tapader
Report : Successfully completed. 

2.    KINNAR KAILASH PARIKRAMA (Via Lalantika Pass) : Himachal Pradesh

Held On : 19th May 2002 to 8th June 2002.  Duration : 21 days.
Participant Members : 6 heads
Leader : Mr. Subrata Chowdhury
Report : Successfully Completed. 

3.    KEDARTAL and KALINDI KHAL (Grahwal Himalaya)

Held On : 16th June to 28th July, 2002
Participant Members : Kedartal : 8 heads,   Kalindi Khal : 6 heads
Kalindi Khal Trekking Organised by Grahwal Mondal Vikash Nigam, Muni Ke Reti, Rishikesh.
Leader : Mr. Minto Saha and Mr. Anath Bandhu Ghosh
Report : Successfully Completed. 

4.    RUPSHU VALLEY and NUBRA VALLEY Jeep Safari Expedition : (Leh)

Held On : 17th August to 9th September, 2002  Duration : 24 days.
Total Participant Members : 23 heads (Ladies Group)
Leader : Mr. D C. Thakur and Mr. Samarendra Nath Maitra
Programme completed in colaboration with Manali Expedition, The Mall, Manali and Indus Himlayan Explorer, Leh.  Report : Successfully Completed. 

5.    DHAULAGIRI BASE AND DAMODAR KUND (Nepal Himalaya) :

Held On : 28th September to 16th October 2002,   Duration : 19 days
Total Participant Members : 8 heads.  Leader : Mr. Arindam Dutta
Report : Successfully completed the Dhaulagiri Base Trek. Cancelled the Damodar Kund trekking programme. 

6.    SANDAKPHU & PHALUT TREKKING EXPEDITION (LADIES GROUP) :

Held On : 29th March to 10th April, 2003   Duration : 13 days
Total Participant Members : 14 heads
Leader : Mr. Anath Bandhu Ghosh and Mr. Arijit Kumar Nandy

Report : Successfully Completed. 
PEAK CLIMBING EXPEDITION :

1.    LUNGSER KANGRI, CHHAMSER KANGRI, LAPGO in East Ladakh Himalaya. Programme Cancelled due to non-availability of Permission from Indian Mountaineering Foundation.

2.    RATABAN PEAK:

Applied for Peak Climbing Expedition to RATABAN PEAK during April-May, and gets the permission from Indian Mountaineering Foundation and from Minitry of Defence. 

     SPECIAL PROGRAMME :

1.    EXPLORE TRIPURA (LADIES GROUP) :

Held On : 10th January, 2003 to 18th January, 2003  Duration : 9 days
Total Participant Members : 16 heads.
Programme Completed in colaboration wtith Tripura Tourisn, Government of Tripura, Agartala.
Leader : Mrs. Gouri Maitra and  Ms. Prof. Sabita Misra. 

2.    GRADUATION CEREMONY :

Held on 2nd March, 2003 at Uttam Mancha, Hazra, Kolkata.
Inagurated by Mr. Joy Sengupta.
Chair Person : Mr. Amiya Kumar Halder. 

3.    SLIDE COMPETETION :

Held on 23rd February, 2003 at Jogesh Mime Academy, Kalighat Park, Kalighat, Kolkata.
Participant Competetors : 14 heads
Inagurated by Mr. Santosh Todi (Industrialist) 

4.    PHOTO WORK SHOP was conducted by Mr. Soumendu Roy and Mr. Rabin Biswas at Nababganj, Murshidabad, on 16th February, 2003. 

5.    MAP READING CLASS was conducted by Prof. Binoy Bhusan Mukherjee on 2nd February, 2003 at Jogesh Mime Academy, Kalighat, Kolkata. 

6.   COASTAL TREK from Gangasagar to Digha was held on and from 19th January, 2003 to 27th
      January, 2003 for 9 days. 

7.    NATURE STUDY CAMP AT PANCHALINGESWAR (ORISSA) was held on and from 23rd January, 2003 to 28th January, 2003 for 6 days.

Total Participant Members : 45 Heads (Student of Nipendra Nath School for Boys and Tollygunge Bangur High School).
Leader : Mr. R. Sahu and Mr. Dilip Kumar Das.
Report : Successfully completed. 

8.    NATURE STUDY CAMP AT MEGHABURU AND KIRIBURU was held on and from 24th November to 30th November, 2002 at Ghatshila, Bihar, for 7 days. Participant Members : 45 heads (Student of Naktala High School).  Leader : Mr. Niranjan Roy and Mr. Arijit Chowdhury (School Teacher).

Leader : Mr. Dilip Kumar Barua and Mr. Biswadeb Biwas.
Report : Successfully Completed. 

9.    ADVENTURE CAMP AT CHANDRAGANI PASS (KULLU) was held on and from 27th October to 10th November, 2002 for 15 days.

Participant Member : 22 heads (Student of Tollygunge Bangur High School – 6 heads, Nipendra Nath School for Boys – 9 heads, & Chetla Boys School-7 heads)

Leader : Mr. Anath Bandhu Ghosh, Mr. Arun Biswas and Mr. Kajal Gupta.
Report : Successfully Completed.

10.  6th and 7th ROCK CLIMBING COURSE was held on and from 25th December, to 31st December, 2002 for 7 days (1st group) and from 2nd January to 8th January, 2003 for 7 days (2nd group).

Participant Members : 38 heads (1st group), 45 heads (2nd group)
Tent Comandent : Mr. Chanchal Mitra (junior) and Mr. Ashoke Debnath in 1st group
Mr. Amulya Sen and Mr. A K Chakraborty in 2nd group. 

11. 6TH ANNUAL MEET, FELICITATION, SLIDE SHOW, MOUNTAINEERING FILM SHOW, was held on and    from 10th January to 12th January, 2003 for 3 days at Institute Hall, Aliporeduar Junction, North Bengal. Participant Members : 145 heads. Published the 3rd issue of our Mouthpiece ‘SHIVLING’. 

SOCIAL WORK :

BLOOD DONATION CAMP, EYE TESTING, EYE OPERATION AND FREE SPECTACLE DISTRIBUTION CAMP, BLOOD GROUP DETECTION CAMP, HEALTH CHECKING CAMP, ECG, X-RAY AND FREE MEDICINE DISTRIBUTION CAMP was held on 5th January, 2003 at Tollygunge Girls High School, P 55 Prince Bakhtiyar Shah Road, Tollygunge, Kolkata 33 and 6th January, 2003 at Tollygunge Bangur High School, 34 Golf Club Road, Tollygunge, Kolkata 33.

73 Members Donated their Blood,
1046 Members checked their Health
184 Members decting their Blood Group,
1254 members checked their Eye.
183 pcs Spectacle distributed between the needy persons,
15 ECG and 6 X-ray was done.
17 Catrac Operation was done in colaboration with Lions Club of Calcutta, New Alipore, Kolkata 53, Dist – 322IB,
542 members collected the Medicine from the free Medicine Counter.

Programme inaugurated by Mr. Amulya Sen (Chairman), Mr. Manoranjan Roy (Chief Guest Mr. Kamal Kumar Guha and Mr. Nipendra Nath  Banerjee as Special Guest.
